No, it's not a swap. It turns out the lower bolt holding the starter in place fell out in my buddy's driveway because the hole was stripped, so it just pivoted out of place on the top bolt. How it didn't fall out on the drive from California to Texas is beyond me, but luckily it fell out there and not on the road somewhere. It is also fortunate that I didn't let it run long enough for it to destroy all the teeth. I went up to the parts store and got a Heli-Coil kit and rethreaded the hole, and now the Z is up and running again! Now it is DEFINITELY time to change out the fluid just in case I was unable to keep all the metal shavings out. Thanks for your help guys!
